Since its inception on August 15, 1947, Rajshri has been an integral part of the Indian Film Industry enjoying a unique position covering film production, distribution, exhibition and export. Founded by the Late Shri Tarachand Barjatya, Rajshri has become a benchmark for quality cinema, not only at the national level but also at the global level. During the past five-and-a-half decades, Rajshri has explored and set new trends in the entertainment world. Sooraj R. Barjatya, Rajat A. Barjatya and Kavita K. Barjatya are now carrying on the Rajshri legacy forward guided by the principles of honesty, transparency and fair play in business, a reputation Rajshri is widely known for.
The young and enterprising Kavita Barjatya spearheads Rajshri Productions' Television Division. Their first program 'Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki' was launched on 30th May 2005 and has bagged many awards. The second daily soap - 'Pyaar Ke Do Naam, Ek Raadha Ek Shyaam' was launched in April 2006 on Star Plus.
Jaya (played by Lata Sabharwal) is a 32 year old ideal housewife and mother. She is completely devoted to her family and they are everything for her. She is a sensitive and loving person and her strongest asset is her simplicity. She adheres to the hierarchies and traditions of a joint family and wins all battles through her immense patience.
Aanchal (played by Megha Gupta) is a young girl with a modern outlook towards life. She is ambitious and her career is of utmost importance to her. She is all set to pursue Fashion Merchandising when life takes a different turn for her. She is an honest person with high moral values and believes in traditions and customs. Anchal is very attached to her family and is an extremely sentimental young woman.
Siddharth (played by Sameer Dharmadhikari) is Jaya’s husband. He is a responsible person and a genuine and sincere human being. He is a poet at heart but doesn’t portray his true self as he is an introvert and doesn’t showcase his poetic ability. Jaya is the love of his life and they share an ideal marriage and life.
Dheeraj (played by Abeer Goswami) is Siddharth’s younger brother. He is light hearted, witty and lively. He and Siddharth are like real brothers (although they are step brothers). He respects Siddharth and Jaya and loves their children dearly. Dheeraj is an ambitious young man and is pursuing a part time MBA.
Lailta Devi (played by Kiran Bhargava) is Hariman’s second wife and is Dheeraj’s real mother. She is selfish and egoistic and the children aren’t very fond of her. She gets along very well with Chanchal (Dheeraj’s wife) and is very materialistic. She constantly feels that she sacrificed her life to bring up Siddharth but hasn’t received the respect she deserved and hence differentiates a lot between Dheeraj and Siddharth.
Aanchal’s Mamaji & Mami (played by Neeraj Kshetarpal & Leena Prabhu) are the ones who have brought up Anchal and their own son Manu. They are a loving couple and do not differentiate between the two. They both dream of providing Anchal the best that life has to offer. Mamaji is a jovial person and is the father figure in Anchal’s life.

Hats Off Productions was conceived by the well-known duo Jamnadas Majethia (JD) and Aatish Kapadia. They have created some hilarious and memorable shows on television giving the audience some unforgettable characters and moments. Some of the popular shows under their banner are Khichdi, Instant Khichdi , Sarabhai vs Sarabhai ,Resham Dankh , Batliwala House No. 43, and Baa Bahoo aur Baby to name a few.

"It takes all kinds to make a family, but only love to keep it together", is the philosophy of Jasuben and Jayantilaal Joshi's family who live in their ancestral home in Junagadh, Gujarat where even the smallest news makes headlines!
The show 'Jasuben Jayantilaal Joshi Ki Joint Family' revolves around Jasuben, who along with her husband Jayantilaal Joshi looks after this joint family of around thirty members. She is the guiding light for all and with her wit, humour and intelligence is constantly involved in solving each one’s problems. With not a moment of dullness, Jasuben's joint family is full of characters that have their own quirks and eccentricities which makes this show extremely entertaining. Not only a loving mother and a doting grandmother, she is also the ideal wife. Whether it is the food for her husband or the cup of tea that he has, Jasuben loves to prepare it herself... the bond between the couple is what famous love stories are made of.
'Jasuben Jayantilaal Joshi Ki Joint Family' is a fresh and heartwarming reflection of the hopes, dreams, joys and aspirations that all joint families experience in their day to day life!
Jasumatiben (played by Swati Chitnis) is the 62 years old wife of Jayantilaal. She is the one that binds the family together and is the real head of the family. She is an intelligent, caring, and strong woman and loves taking care of her husband in each and every aspect. Her entire life revolves around him and her family.
Chandrakant Joshi (played by Rohitas) is Jayantilaal’s eldest son who is a teacher of literature and history. He is an insecure individual and is in constant conflict with his tenant Purshottam. He is married to Pushpa, but doesn’t share a good relationship with her. Both of them merely exist in their marriage.
Pushpa Joshi (played by Bharti Patil) is Chandrakant Joshi’s wife. She has a practical but innocent nature and more often than not ends up being confused about whose advice she should pursue. She loves and pampers her 21 year old son Pinakin immensely.
Pinakin (played by Krishna) is Chandrakant and Pushpa's son. He is a young carefree college student, and everyone’s favourite in the family. He is very good at his work and has a very helpful nature. Pinakin is head-over heels in love with Nandini (daughter of their tenant Purushottam) and wants to marry her.
Shailesh Joshi (played by Sanjeev Jogtiyani) is the 32 year old, second son of Jayantilaal. He shares a good relationship with everyone in the family. He is an opportunist by nature and is always on the lookout for business prospects. He is married to Deepika.
Deepika Joshi (played by Arya Rawal) is Shailesh Joshi's wife who has come from Mumbai. She has a superiority complex because of where she is from and hates doing any work in the house. Deepika loves dressing well and insists on moving back to Mumbai, something Shailesh refuses to do as he doesn't want to leave his family and go anywhere.
Dharmesh Joshi (played by Anuj) is Pankor’s son and Jayantilaal's 27 year old nephew. He is a fitness freak and runs a gymnasium. He is very religious and is a staunch Hindu. He is an extremely emotional person and is very shy, particularly when it comes to women. He is in love with a widow, whom he used to love even before she had got married, but has never confessed his feelings. He is also completely devoted and attached to Jasuben.
Jigna (played by Bijal) is Jayantilaal's 28 year old daughter. She is extremely pampered, spoilt and immature. She got married at a very young age, had a fight with her husband and came back to stay with at her mother's house along with her children. She is a trouble maker and throws tantrums without any reason. However her husband is a well behaved man and comes to meet her every weekend.
Pankor (played by Meenal Patel) is Jayantilaal’s 65 year old sister-in-law. She is extremely insecure about her position in the family since her husband left the house many years ago, mysteriously. She is constantly trying to find her husband and releases regular advertisements in newspapers. His absence makes her very insecure, but just one hug from Jasuben, and she feels immediately comforted!
Rajendra (played by Shyam Pathak) is Jasuben's 35 year old slow witted and innocent son. He changes jobs frequently. His brothers have tried to find him a job several times, but since he doesn’t stick to one place, they have given up hope. The only saving grace in his life is wife Gita and their genius son Kedar.
Gita (played by Rudrakshi Gupta) is Rajendra's 32 year old wife. She is extremely hardworking and takes care of the house, pretty much on her own. Rajendra's constant job changes do not leave them with much money hence she earns by way of giving tuitions and stitching. Gita is constantly trying to support and improve her family.
Chirag (played by Hemen), is Pankor's 25 year old son. He has been brought up by mostly by Pushpa as her own son. Chirag is generally under a lot of pressure because his elder brother doesn't earn and his sister is still unmarried. Chirag is unsure about what he really wants to do and hence keeps changing jobs. He is vulnerable and can easily be led on the wrong track to earn money.
Aarti (played by Upasana) is Pankor’s daughter and Chirag's 27 year old sister. She is an intelligent and beautiful young girl who works as a mehendiwaali. Aarti is everybody's favorite in the family. She silently helps with the household chores and is completely devoted to Jasuben.
Paarul (played by Shruti Bapna) is Pankor's young daughter-in-law. Her husband relocated to America almost immediately after marriage. She is naïve and can be easily fooled as a result of which everybody takes extra care of her.
Purushotam (played by Paresh Ganatra) is the 42 year old tenant of the Joshi family who runs a Jalebi-Gathia (snack) shop. Purushotam is a very short tempered person and has constant fights with Chandrakant his landlord. Purushottam is married to Sudha, and both of them have immense respect for Jasuben despite being at loggerheads with most of the other family members. He has a daughter; Nandini’s who he loves dearly.
Sudha (played by Priti Joshi) is Purushotam's wife. She is a naïve and simple woman who is overly concerned about her husband's health. She is completely unaware of what her daughter, Nandini, is up to although Nandini's entire love story with Pinakin happens practically right under her nose.
Nandini (played by Ketaki) is the 17 year old daughter of Purushotam and Sudha. She is a typical bubbly teenager who wants to enjoy life to the fullest. She is young and pretty and does whatever she wants to do and is also madly in love with Pinakin.
